What’s Needed to Get In?

  • A Master’s Degree (Level 7, MQF) in the relevant business field; OR
  • Practitioners with a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant business field with the following work experience* may also be appointed as academic staff or co-supervisor:
    1. At least FIVE years of relevant working experience* in senior management roles (General Manager and above) in the course taught; OR
    2. At least TEN years of relevant working experience* in managerial roles (Senior Manager and Manager) in the course taught; OR
    3. Entrepreneurs with at least FIVE years of experience* and a proven track record in running business(es) may be considered to teach some of the entrepreneurship courses.

Year 1

1.Economic environment/International economics (International & Environmental Economics) – Examines global trade, economic policies, and environmental factors affecting international markets and economies.

2.Fundamentals of marketing – Covers essential marketing principles, including consumer behavior, market research, branding, and digital strategies. 

3.Certifying Business Challenge – A practical, real-world business challenge where students apply their knowledge to solve complex business problems.

4. Human resource management – Focuses on managing people in organizations, including recruitment, performance evaluation, training, and labor relations.

5.Accounting and Management / General accounting – Introduces financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis for business decision-making.

6. Legal environment – Examines laws and regulations affecting businesses, including contracts, corporate governance, labor laws, and international trade regulations.

7. Financial Technology (Issues of the contemporary world / Challenges of the modern world/ Management of organizations (Managing Global Issues & Challenges ) – Explores the impact of technology on financial services, including blockchain, digital payments, and AI-driven finance.

8. Sociology of organizations – Analyzes organizational structures, workplace dynamics, and social interactions within businesses.

9. Business Ethics – Investigates ethical decision-making, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability in business.

10. Business Game / Challenge International mobility or business game (Global Business Challenges) – A simulation-based or international business competition where students solve real-world business problems.

11. Digital and Knowledge Economy – Explores the impact of digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and knowledge management on businesses and economies.

Year 2

12. Market research – Focuses on methods for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. 

13. Principle of Management – Covers fundamental concepts of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling within organizations. 

14. Strategic marketing – Explores advanced marketing strategies for achieving competitive advantage, brand positioning, and long-term business growth.

15. Accounting and Management /General Accounting – Introduces financial principles, reporting, and performance measurement for business decision-making. 

16. Quantitative management techniques – Focuses on mathematical and statistical methods for business decision-making, including optimization, forecasting, and risk analysis.

17. Communication tools/ Digital communication (Digital Communication) – Examines modern communication strategies, including digital media, social networks, and corporate messaging.

18. Fundamentals of international trade/International trade strategies(International trade & strategies) – Covers global trade principles, market entry strategies, and international business operations.

19. Monitoring, survey, and benchmarking – Focuses on tracking business performance, conducting market research, and comparing industry best practices.

20. Consumer behaviour – Studies how individuals and groups make purchasing decisions, influenced by psychological, cultural, and social factors.

21. Strategic and digital marketing – Integrates digital tools and strategic planning to create competitive marketing campaigns. 

22. Commercial action plan – Develops structured sales and marketing plans to drive business growth. It includes market analysis, sales strategies, and performance evaluation.

25. Dashboards and monitoring tools – Covers the use of analytical tools to track business performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and decision-making metrics.

26. Administrative and financial management – Involves managing financial resources, budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance to ensure business stability and growth.

27. CRM and e-CRM (CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management, and e-CRM refers to electronic Customer Relationship Management) – Explores strategies and digital tools for managing customer interactions, improving retention, and enhancing sales.

28. Recruitment and management of sales forces – Focuses on hiring, training, and motivating sales teams to optimize performance. 

29. Measurement and development of performance – Examines tools and strategies for evaluating individual and organizational effectiveness.

30. Marketing Plan – Covers the creation of a structured strategy to promote products or services. It includes market research, segmentation, competitive analysis, and budgeting for marketing campaigns.

31. Distribution and merchandising – Focuses on optimizing product placement, retail strategies, and supply chain management.

32. Community Management – Involves building and managing online communities to enhance brand engagement.

37. Bahasa Kebangsaan A (MYBMNOCR) – Develops proficiency in the national language, Bahasa Melayu, emphasizing grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication.

38. Entrepreneurship (MYINTL) – Introduces the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including business planning, innovation, and market strategies.

39. Integrity and Anti-Corruption (KIAR) (MYINTL) – Explores ethical principles, governance, and strategies to prevent corruption in various sectors.
